Mr. Garvelink has over 28 years of experience as an executive compensation attorney, including over 20 years of service as a New York City partner at Big Law firms with major executive compensation practices. He represents senior executives of public and privately-owned companies, with a particular emphasis on executives at private equity firms and hedge funds, senior executives at portfolio companies, and senior professionals at venture capital firms, investment managers and investment banks.
Mr. Garvelink's experience is varied and well known in the executive compensation industry. He is both an experienced deal lawyer, having handled executive comp issues for both buyers and sellers in M&A transactions, as well as a knowledgeable, seasoned and affable advocate for senior executives, often in the context of sale transactions and other bet-the-company situations. He routinely deals with the complex incentive arrangements that apply to portfolio managers and other key executives at private investment funds, and to senior executivesat private equity-backed portfolio companies.
Mr. Garvelink was a Partner at Morrison Cohen LLP from 2007 to 2018, and at McDermott, Will & Emery LLP from 1998 to 2006.
Mr. Garvelink is a graduate of Michigan State University and Boston University School of Law.
